- student: hey government can I have some money to go to university
- uk government: sure here you go. you'll have to pay it back but only when you're earning £21,000+ a year, and if you don't pay it off after 30 years we'll just write it off, don't worry about it man
- scottish government: nah man just go to uni we ain't gonna charge you
- us government: no. you gotta pay it yourself. upfront. your parents have to save up from the moment you're born. good luck, fucker.
I’ve seen so many people lately complaining about ‘our generation’
And I hate it.
Like yeah, don’t act as if we’re perfect
But who are we supposedly worse than?
And what is the point in telling a bunch of teenagers and young adults that it’s their fault for being raised the ‘wrong’ way and that they’ll never do anything worthwhile
You don’t know that, and it’s hardly motivational
Jesus Christ, people act as if using mobile phones and the Internet is the worst thing ever
And who was it who GAVE us these things?
And complain about us being desensitised to sex and violence, but who is the one putting it on our tv screens?
And when people my age think they’re being smart by talking shit about us all, I just want to scream, all you’re doing is playing into stereotypes and accepting that we’re useless
How is that helpful
And why bother comparing yourselves to older generations, when you weren’t even alive when they were our age? You have no idea that they were ‘better’ than us
We live in a different age to the people before us, and that’s natural. Stop acting like we’re the downfall of society.
Especially when we’re not even the ones who created it.
You have no idea what we can do.
